Unity (teamwork) toward advancement of the cause, a cure for diabetes, is somewhat lacking in this forum. Unity of individuals that seek a common, non-hostile approach to furthering that cause, and educating themselves & others (public & government officials), is a positive means to a goal(s).
Many people read this forum and their reasons are very much individual in origin and need. These people are from all walks of life. Some are diabetic & some have come here to learn more about the disease. Some are from the medical & scientific community and follow your postings, for insight from those afflicted by the disease.
The basics in human trust & respect for privacy & individuality is lacking here. The rumor mill runs in overdrive,and the people that write to each other, do so communicate and perpetuate very well. Just because you can not verify my education and I am not the person I so desire to call myself, for net safety & privacy, does not invalidate, what I do. I guess posting my licensure number on the net would clear this up really quick, eh? I am not the only annon. poster here, I just took great care when I got on the net after moving to my new area that I could not be tracked. My account is in a friends name and I don't block the ip address. For those that care to figure it out UTMB Galveston & Baylor. But you have nolonger a reason to email each other and waste your time with this as I will take my leave of your forum.
I would have liked to have been an active participant in your forum & to have written letters and gone with you to meetings and conferences. I however have been made to feel uncomfortable, not wanted, an ineffective communicator and rumor has it a fraud. I have better things to do with my time and energy than fight the closed minded and irrational attitudes. *some exceptions do apply*
In closing, I hope in the future the hostility subsides and you learn to ask not what a person brings to your forum but what the forum brings to the person and the public.
