Ron, I believe you ran into the worst type of con men -- those who are sincere and who have convinced not only innocent investors, but themselves that they have the 'miracle' answer. Think about this, Ron: If your son had not had 30,000 fingersticks, would you have been so desperate to believe the Diasensor worked? You,and your victimized son, wanted a noninstrusive meter to work, andyou wanted it with all your hearts. It is easy to close our eyes just a little when the need is so great that it hurts.
A cure is the only thing that matters. "Miracles' don't happen; only hard work does, and that hard work comes in research. Basic research. How can I cure this damned thing? How did it happen, and can I stop it now or prevent it for the next kid?
Every dollar spent on better diabetic candy, sugar free syrup, glucose lozenges, fancy leather tooled insulin carrying packs, adnd the like, are stealing the life away from us, and from our families. The major flow of all our charitable funds go to getting more charitable funds - where is the investment into a cure? The JDF is an honorable organization, expending the majority of the funds it collects on cure research. I wish as much could be said for the big guy in the fund collection business.
Sorry to sound off like this, but it is this kind of fraud, in my opinion, that led to the Washington movement - frustration, anger, and humiliation from being treated tlike the fools they think we are.
