Hi Deb,

Re: "...I attended the meeting in my capacity as a Director of JDF government relations...

Interesting. So you're roughly situated a link in the supervisory chain above Eric Schutt in the JDF government relations department? The top link? It's unclear from your phrasing- Does "a Director of JDF government relations" mean you are one of several, or _the_ one Director of JDF government relations?

Re: "I am still not clear on the reason that the meeting was called together at such short notice and hope that in the future, more respect will be extended to the participants with better organization."

Judging from the attendee list, I'm impressed by the substantive and apparently enthusiastic turnout at this event. I applaud this tremendous effort by JDF to finally tune into current developments and technologies regarding cure research.

"Respect" can often be a nebulous and subjective item. If it's the sort that is generally characteristic of officious bureaucratic protocal, then IMO, JDF is better off without it.

JDF's willingness to take a risk and tread into previously ignored territory as evidenced by the conference have helped motivate me to send a financial contribution to the organization after 5+ years. I need to see a continuing forward movement such as this in order to offer continuing support.

Regards,

Robin
