In general Diabetes will not cause transient blindness lasting for a few days. A number of disorders can cause this and a textbook on Opthamology or Neuroopthamology from any medical library can be consulted. If the loss of vision involves only one eye, a transient ischemic attack (or variant thereof) may be responsible. Optic neuritis (and related conditions) may cause blindness lasting a relatively brief period and then largely resolving (this is an inflammatory condition probably associated with M.S.) There are several other causes, but diabetes is not though to be one of them (though it is certainly related to stroke).
