Hi,
We are getting enthusiastic about a cure which is great.
I feel that we have a large number of enterprising individuals
with sufficient talent and resources in one form or other.
Can we not pool the efforts of all of the affected individuals
and contribute to the cure instead of waiting for it.
Thanks to Al Gordon for the discussion group which disseminates information but I feel we need more.
What is really needed is some recent concrete information from the leading enterprises like Encelle and Vivo Rx giving their current status... and specifically where are they stuck.
Unlike many other corporation they have to realize that theirs is much more important work and unlike others they cannot accomplish their goals fast without support from the people.
We can pool our resources and support them financially if they categorically state that it is their hindrance, politically(I am sure we have a lot of senators with diabetes :) ), or scientifically... The possibilities are endless and if properly coordinated they will speed up the process. We have to
realize that we can pool in a lot of resources nationally and internationally thanks to the internet and such a urgent purpose
should get the first priority.
Also there is a urgent need of consolidating the efforts by leading organizations and sharing the information so as not to require re-inventing of the wheel.
We are dealing with a problem whose solution is long overdue.
Non-invasive techniques are fine and great but a cure and only cure should be the goal.
Please do voice your opinion and lets move forward,
Angsuman
PS. let our goal be a cure for diabetes for all before year 2000
