Al,
u must've been copying my notes from a previous conference
that i attended... lots of refs to "islet grnfldt" and
"genetic trumpet" as well... but me thinks it was because
of my need for bi-focals... which i now have (uh-hem... i mean
progressive lenses - so you can't see the line...)
Did you notice any refs to noninvasivglucomnotring ?
on a more serious note... brought my own coffee mug to
my new job the other day - left over from an old JDF conference... whilst sipping my morning brew - i read the
words printed on the side... jdf annual conference etc,
1970-1990 etc... and of course a ref to the 90's being the
decade of the cure ((please please , lets not go off on that tangent again - LOL))... those around me did not notice,
but at that point I had all I could do to keep
from crying (would have - but the guy who made the coffee might have thought the tears were because the coffee was so bad)...
anyhow... it's been a long haul - and it ain't over yet...
but me thinks that I owe Al a thank you as well for
his efforts... and to the rest of you (even those I argue with)
please hang in there - i really don't want a mug that says
JDF 1970 - 2000... and I know you don't either...
I am extremely happy to note that Al sez...
But I would again like to say that what I heard at the conference was a source of hope, not discouragement. Furthermore, I believe the people present from JDFI were not there for any reason other than to drive research to finding a cure for diabetes, and to genuinely seek advice as to how JDFI can be most effective in that process.
I believe we are entering a new era that will be very different from the past decade of frustration and lost opportunity.'
AMEN!!! with prayers that that "era" isn't "another" decade...
now... i gotta get back to work...
Cheers... have a good weekend...
Charlie
