Renee:

I hope I have not created the impression that somebody has "the cure", because they do not yet. However, there comes a point in any scientific pursuit, from insulin to the A-bomb to polio vaccine, when there is a convergence and agreement on one or two promising approaches, and that is what we see today. At this point, there is a subtle tilt from research to development. In addition, I believe the process now has become very visible and that there will be less tolerance for research for its own sake, and a greater demand for knowledge milestones and clinical deliverables. All this makes me very happy, but I have simple needs :)
