"All I want for Christmas... is a million or so encapsulated piggy islets."

I was singing the same song this time last year. Al, what's taking you so long?

Dr. Mulvihill called me up and told me you were being invited to the conference. (He didn't exactly call just to tell me that.) I didn't think you'd miss it, although it's probably a good thing there's no snow yet on those ski hills. I wonder which passion of yours would have won out?

I see Bernie made the November 7th Globe and Mail. Didn't know that he was a..."principal investigator in the landmark study (DCCT)"... and "could offer new hope to millions of people worldwide that with careful control, etc, etc."

I'm sure that the optimism you're about to share with us will be far more substantial than the wonderful new hope Bernie discovered in his landmark (and very expensive) study.
