Transplant research--What's the current state?

I just found this site, and would like to know if someone would be able to summarize what the various companies or research outfits and universities are working on, and where they are in terms of their research, on islet cell transplantation, or anything else that might be considered close to a "cure". I see that there are discussions about a number of companies, but it is difficult to find up-to-date information about All the companies, and where they are at this time.
