We completely agree. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. If there are religious objections either to the Jewish law restricting pork or the tenant of certain religious christian sects against the use of anothers blood, then I say let them solve the problems with their own religious leaders.
One time I had a Witness stop in front of the house. I asked them about the restriction on the use of blood transfusions and if the restriction would apply to blood carried hormone insulin. They were completely baffled by the question. They had no idea how to apply religious law to modern technology questions. The answer to these questions is deeply personal. While I respect the girl that did not take her insulin because she believed Christ had cure her, I do not respect her doctor that did not have a simple blood test in his office and instead sent her to the hospital where she died.
God helps those that help themselves.
