This is a very good question and one that is not answerable. I know that JDF receives ALOT of letters from parents and diabetics who want JDF to support research into non invasive meters. I have even heard it referred to as "a holy grail" (cough!). But I do believe that research funding for a cure needs to be critically investigated (as in the task force) to determine where money is best spent and how to make life better for all diabetics. I would love a non invasive meter for my son but I remain unconvinced that it would alter our life enough to make a cure less interesting to me. I, personally , believe that JDF needs to stick to their mission statement of finding a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Unfortunately that rather broad based definition leaves alot of room for interpretation and (sigh) "discussions" about what a cure is and how to "define" it . For me, I want something more than a non invasive meter. Alot more.
