I am sure that many of you are wondering where I have been and why there has not been more information forthcoming about this event. The fact is that I am now so overwhelmed by personal issues I doubt that I will have the time necessary to dedicate to this. This may change in a month or two, but for now I simply cannot put in the effort required to lead the charge. So I am asking for all of you to help out.

Each and every member of congress was sent a letter outlining what we are trying to do here. If we are to make this campaign a success, it will require someone out there to take up the charge, at least for now, and begin to organize this effort. As I have said, my server went down and many names were lost but I still have quite a list of volunteers to work from. Whoever decides to lead for now, may email me for that list. Also, be aware of the fact that Mellisa's Board and the Children with Diabetes site have offered to help out, as well.

What I believe we need to do right now is form the state coordinators, and the various other coordinators so that the infrstructure of the organization is built. I will help out where ever I can but I will probably not be of much use until the mid-December timeframe. I have a new job comming up and probably a move to a new house, so things will be very, very hectic here for good, long while.

I am so sorry to if I disappoint anyone out there. Perhaps I overcommited from the start. However, still feel very strongly that we can pull this thing together and we can get 30,000 + to Washington, D.C. for May 8, 1998.

Sue Huson has vounteered to be a communications coordinator and other have volunteered for other positions. Contact me and I will pass on all names and email id's.

For those who have asked for Gray Ribbon Pins, I sent out 15 more packets today, so I believe that I am at least current with that. If you desire to have them let me know. If you have already asked and do not receive them by the end of next week, let me know so that I can get your pins out to you.

Again, I offer my apologies for letting all of you down, for now, but I think it will be for the best. Better to have someone who can put in some time rather than me - and I have no time to give right now.

If any of you wish to take this on and would prefer to call me, there are two ways to reach me.

Telephone: 972-618-2798
Pager 1-800-843-0603

Either way, or via email, I will do my best to help anyone else along with this.

Best wishes,
Ron
