Welcome back, Dr. Ricordi!
I have read that recently you have been a pioneer in perfecting methods of human islet cell retreival; that the ratio of cadaver pancreases needed each transplant recipient has been greatly lessened. Until now it took around 8 cadavers to successfully transplant a single individual. Is this true, and how many might it take now with your new methods?
