Debby,

There are 2 private companies that I am aware of working on a SEMI-invasive device. Integ--www.integonline.com and SpectRx---www.spectrx.com They have proven that the interstitial fluid at the upper layers of the skin can be used to measure bg's. I beleive they presented these findings at the last ADA shindig.

I'm very excited about these devices (of course I'd prefer a cure first) because drawing blood from my 4 year old 6-7 times a day is not fun. The only thing about them that I didn't care for was that you had to hold it on the forearm for about 45 seconds, and with a young child, it might be easier to get that quick blood drop and let them go (especially on those middle of the night checks.)
