Charlie,I appreciate your fresh perspective. With regard to the pie, I'm wondering if you've read Gordon and Susan Bonner Weir's article, Scientific and Political Impediments. . . .? Their analysis of the pie and how it's sliced is enlightening. I've read in a recent ADA post that for every American with AIDS, there is $2,000 spent on research. $20 is spent for every diabetic. Maybe we should be looking at the whole bakery and not just "our" pie???
