Good points. I, too, have mixed feelings on this subject. Our daughter is only 18 months younger than our son with diabetes, so the ability to prevent the onset of Type 1 would help free me of the fears that she, too, will become diabetic.
As for prevention AFTER a cure to prevent re-onset, that is an interesting point that I've never heard brought up.
You are a very noble person, to be so diplomatic, especially after your 2nd child has been diagnosed! Thanks for sending those "positive vibes" my way!
p.s. had your daughter done the DPT-1 trial? Ours will be eligible age-wise in 6 months.
