I believe the two noblest destinations for diabetes research funding are PREVENTION and CURE. However, I believe the destintion likeliest to pay dividends in the near term is CURE, simply because there are more initiatives closer to the CURE finishing line, than there are to the PREVENTION finsihing line.
Having said all that, until we are able to CURE all the people who now have diabetes and PREVENT any new cases of diabetes from ocurring, we also need to better manage the disease. My concern is why is so much attention is paid to the management child in this dysfunctional family known as diabetes, at the expense of the other two kids who seem to offer so much more hope? :)
