The joural Nature released recently indicate that porcine viruses are carried in the cells of almost all pigs. In a test tube these cells had the ability to generate a virus and infect human cells. While the risks of these viruses transplanted are not known. They may represent no risk at all. This may be a setback for xenotransplants however.
