I'll bet lot of people on this forum would love to share your observations of the NIH meetings in September. You mentioned that your observations would "only be from a volunteer's perspective." From your perspective of a loving mother with a child who has diabetes, I cannot imagine a more direct and honest perspective. Any "official" communications will invariably be colored by governmental and political interests. You, on the other hand, will be asking "What does all this mean for my child?" And that is the question we all want answered.
If you feel comfortable, please do not hesitate to post any notes, observations, conclusions, or comments about those meetings here on the forum. If you start a new thread on the NIH Meetings, I'll bet a lot of people will both appreciate the information, and join the discussion.
By the way, to start a new message thread (as opposed to repsonding to an existing posted message), just fill in the blank form at the end of all the posted messages. There are now so many messages, that the form has been somewhat buried.
