I just wanted to let folks know that I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Ricordi this morning. Although his time is limited he noted that when he answers questions on this forum it reaches many more people than are reached with individual E Mail questions/responses. He indicated he would like to participate in the forum as his time will allow. He will be away for the next week as he is going to Europe to see a research lab there and take care of some other matters related to DM research.
I would like to publicly thank him for giving us whatever time he can to answer our questions about ongoing DM cure research.
I am a physician but am virtually a lay person when it come to this topic. I think it is fantastic that we have someone such as Dr. Ricordi who is willing to communicate with us. If there are other DM researchers following this website I am sure that all of us would appreciate the opportunity to hear your perspectives. In particular, since much space on this site is devoted to Encelle it would be wonderful to hear from Dr. Usala. Also, the folks at VivoRx, Matech and the academic centers such as U. Minnesota would be terrific contributors.
