I'm not sure this proves much. The pig blood wasn't encpusulated, so an aggressive immune responce was probably in effect. Any virus that might be hiding out from within a host pig cell would be under attack ... that's not the case with encapusulation.
However, you do deserve an award for "most disgusting story of the day" :-)
