I'm not sure you noticed the question raised by the preceding post, so I changed the subject heading to get your attention.

Now, as long as we're opening the floor to questions for you, I have one of my own:

As an alternative application for encapsulated islets, might you have a better chance of marketing your technology by referring to it as a treatment for hypoglycemic non-awareness?

If you focus on treating T1D only, I can imagine others objecting on the grounds that other treatments that are known to be effective in the medium term exist, so why take a chance. However, hypoglycemic non-awareness is a potentially fatal condition in the short term, and high performing alternatives are not readily available. I see this marketing approach as a means of "getting your foot in the door". After all, many T1Ds eventually end up becoming prone to this condition eventually. Just a thought ... please tell me what you think.
