Worst Burnout So Far. posted by Marie
Marie, having tears in my eyes at work is not a good look!
I hear what you say, feel at least some of it and have absolutely no bloody answers at all.
My 18yo daughter (diagnosed at 3yo) is also a happy, positive, optomistic young person, but she doesn't think there will be a cure in her lifetime either. So far, while we have had a few "I'm sick of this crap" times, we haven't had a complete meltdown.
It must be so hard for you, but from your comments it is clear that, like me and most of us, you appreciate that your boy has every right to kick and scream at fate for the crap that he (and you) have to deal with. Equally, you obviously have a clear view that life goes on, and I am sure your boy will get his head together very quickly with the support you give him.
I agree with your summation of the issues BTW - I know that Claire is aware of what you say, and I also know that you, and I, and every other parent of a diabetic kid knows this as well and has lived with it every single day (and night) since our kids were diagnosed.
For what its worth, you and your son are in my thoughts, Marie.
