If taken as it stands, Robert Goldstein is certainly mistaken at best and a "moron" at worst.
However, in his defense, this was a QUOTE taken out of a NEWSPAPER and we all know that JOURNALISTS can be FULL OF **IT. Seeing as how I am both a journalist and a victim of journalists, I would make sure that Goldstein really truly does think shots are the worst part about diabetes and that this wasn't just the journalist's manipulation of a quote. There could have been a lot more before or after this little segment they chose to leave out because it didn't quite "spin" the article the way they wanted. I mean, hello, this is the NY Times we're talking about. Yeah, there's a trust-worthy newsource... (note sarcasm)
I'm just saying, journalists have been known to f*** things up in the past and that this little statement, as vile as it may sound to our ears, may not be exactly what Goldstein had in mind when he was interviewed by said newspaper.
